The Business Leadership class covers the concepts and practices of leadership through the examination of the difference between management and leadership, organizational culture, and the leader-follower relationship. Students will have an opportunity to apply the ideas and ideals from several philosophies in developing and expanding their own views of leadership and with their participation in a variety of leadership projects. The course focuses on human relation skill, group process skills, managerial skills, communication skills and self-awareness. The students are required to complete service hours throughout the course.

In order to insure involvement in class activities, the following policies will be in effect:
- Class participation is essential! Your opinion is important please contribute this to class!
- Every student in Leadership Class will complete 10 LEADERSHIP HOURS of participation per semester in class activities outside of the Leadership Class such as: Dance shifts, Athletic Ticket Booths, event shifts, clean up, and noontime activity.
- Every student in Leadership will complete 5 COMMUNITY HOURS of active involvement in community services per semester. The 5 hours per semester cannot be part of community service for an MPHS Club. More information on Community Service opportunities will be made available to students in the class. Community service hours include: Assisting at community fairs, tree planting, neighborhood clean-ups, serving meals to the homeless, and a variety of other service opportunities. If the student has a special service project in mind, please see me for approval in advance.
