Justin Foote--Analyst, LA Lakers
“Through the Accounting program at MPATC, I learned the basics of Analyzing numbers and using MS Excel which prepared me for future jobs. Employers were looking for those specific skills and without Mrs. Lockwood's class I wouldn't have had them." .
Mikaeli Campbell--Credit Analyst, Isabella Bank
I took accounting at the tech center with Mrs. Lockwood in high school and through this, I had an opportunity to co-op my senior year. She had told me about two different opportunities and I applied for both. I was offered and accepted a position as a co-op at Isabella Bank. After co-op, I took a position as a floater teller and worked there throughout college, working at various branches, while I worked toward my bachelor's in business at Ferris. I graduated from Ferris in December and shortly after was offered and accepted a position as a Credit Analyst in the Commercial Loan Department at Isabella Bank. Without accounting at the tech center and without Mrs. Lockwood, I wouldn't have found a passion for business and an incredible work family and career with Isabella Bank!
Rachel Delorenzo, Project Controller, Magna International
My name is Rachel DeLorenzo and I graduated from MPHS in 2010. I took Accounting with Mrs. Lockwood my Junior and Senior years, and it was by far my favorite class. Through this class, I also participated in a Co-Op at a local CPA firm, for a portion of my senior year. After graduation, I attended Michigan State with a major in Finance and had a variety of internships during my 4 years, including wealth management at Morgan Stanley and corporate finance at Meritor (a manufacturing company in the commercial vehicle space). After graduating from MSU in 2014, I started full-time as a Financial Analyst in a finance rotational program at Meritor, doing one year stints in Treasury, Procurement Finance, and Manufacturing Finance at their facility in Asheville, North Carolina. This year I relocated to Greenville, South Carolina where I am currently a Project Controller at Magna International (a manufacturing company in the automotive industry) and am pursuing my MBA part-time at Clemson University.
